New AI Compliance Requirements Prohibit Discrimination for Colorado Employers
“On June 30, 2026, Colorado’s Senate Bill 24-205 (“SB24-205”), also known as the Colorado AI Act, goes into effect. The law requires employers to exercise reasonable care when using high-risk AI systems to prevent algorithmic discrimination. SB24-205 authorizes the Colorado Attorney General (“AG”) to treat violations as deceptive trade practices and to impose civil penalties for violations.”
